First let’s dispel some ideas.
1.
I have not won the lottery, not yet.
2.
As far as I know I am as healthy as I was 10
years ago, just 10 years older.
3.
I do have a new job, Me.
Also if you are reading this to hear me complain about
people or the job or the company it isn’t going to happen, not that I love
everyone or everything about my years there, but a complaint without action is
just “phatic” conversation.
As you go through life you make plans and have dreams some
attainable and some outrageous. As you
proceed through that life decades become years and years become months and
months weeks and then days. Along the
way you alter the dreams and plans based on where you are, what you can do,
what you have done, and what plans others have for you. When the timeline of
your dreams and plans intersects the timeline of your life you need to act.
That point is different for each of us.
There was a training I had years ago dealing with “Risk and
Reward” and from school and business the idea of a “Cost/Benefit” analysis. I
reached the point where the rewards and benefits were no longer there. I left
on my wall a flip switch given to me by the company a long time ago. It is an
on/off switch on a block of wood and the words “You Control the End Result”. I don’t know if that switch should be in the
on or off position.
I did not leave to hurt any of you or the company and if my
leaving has caused you more work I must say sorry but, bottom line, each of us needs to control our destiny. I will, as in the words of the old country song “things
sure do look different in the cold cold morning light”, question myself but
when I roll out of that bed and my feet touch the cold linoleum floor I will do
a quick “cost/benefit” analysis and decide whether or not to go back to sleep.
For those of you mad or disappointed with me for my manner
of leaving, I remember reading “the two hardest words to say are the first hello
and the last goodbye” so
Later......
See you around.....
